The Overland Expo Foundation is proud to announce the awarding of a $6,000 grant to Project Heal the Land for their Explore More So Cal. The project will deliver workshops and hands-on activities in partnership with local junior high and high schools via hiking trips on local So Cal trails. They will collaborate with schools and teachers to integrate lessons into Science (environmental), History (local history of trails), and English (writing for appreciation of the outdoors and respect for our public lands). Students will apply their knowledge on field trips to local trails.

ABOUT Project Heal the Land

Project Heal the Land believes that through education, restoration, and conservation we can save our forests, deserts, and oceans while connecting with the outdoors in ways that directly enhance our lives.

The Impact

  • Reduces environmental degradation by instilling sustainability principles in the next generation.
  • Strengthens the OHV community’s reputation as conscientious land stewards.
  • Encourages greater collaboration between youth and OHV organizations.
  • Builds a pipeline of educated, responsible outdoor enthusiasts who advocate for safe and sustainable trail use.
