The Overland Expo Foundation is proud to announce the awarding of a $7,500 grant to Fox Bravo Overland for their 2025 Operation Desert Fox team expedition. Team expeditions provide veterans, first responders, and service members with an introductory overland adventure experience.
ABOUT FOX BRAVO OVERLAND
Fox Bravo Overland started in 2011 when a handful of veterans who had redeployed from Afghanistan and Iraq found themselves struggling with reintegrating into “normal” life.
The group opted to head out into the untamed wilds of the western US where they found an environment where they once again experienced camaraderie, teamwork, and mission focus while overcoming physical and mental challenges. FBO now organizes, promotes, and provides long-distance overland adventures and related activities for veterans, first responders, and service members, regardless of injuries, physical or mental disabilities. They believe in the power of camaraderie, resilience, and purpose.
The Impact
Each 10-day journey is designed to challenge participants physically and mentally, promote teamwork, and build a sense of accomplishment. Locations and routes vary and are selected to provide teammates the opportunity to explore vast and remote natural environments while having to rely on each other to succeed. Throughout the adventure, teams participate in a number of activities including navigation, survival skills, recovery, and more. Team members receive Tread Lightly! Instruction and work to restore campsites and trails along the route.
